2012-2013 Revised District Calendar

The Board of Education is pleased to announce that Dr. Frances Wood, Ed.D has been appointed the new superintendent of The Somerset Hills School District, effective July 1, 2013.  Click here for press release.

Effective immediately, visitors to The Somerset Hills School District may be asked to show a photo ID upon arrival.    Additionally, as a reminder, all visitors are required sign in at the main office, state the purpose of the visit,  wear a visitor’s badge, sign out, and return the visitor’s badge when leaving.

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2014:  SENIOR PORTRAIT INFORMATION
Your child should have received an appointment for a Portrait sitting from Lifetouch.  Please look for that information in the mail.  Once you take your yearbook photo with Lifetouch, the company will send the proofs to your home which will include instructions on how to choose your portrait for submission for the yearbook.  Once you have completed those steps, your job is done. If you choose to use an outside photographer, here are some things to remember:

• Deadline for submission is NOVEMBER 1, 2013.  Any submissions after this date may not be included in the yearbook.
• Background color should be a basic color (Blue/gray)
• If the portrait is a “location shot”, please be aware of the items in the background that might look odd in a yearbook layout.
• A “head and shoulders” shot is preferred.  Full body pictures detract from the uniformity of the yearbook.
• Dress should be more formal (boys: jacket and tie  girls: nice top/blouse/sweater)
• Format for submission should be CD or electronic format (email or flashdrive) and can be emailed to bhsyearbook@shsd.org. 

ADDING STUDENTS TO POWERSCHOOL OR SCHOOLFUSION ACCOUNTS
Information for creating new PowerSchool (Grades and Attendance) and SchoolFusion (Website) accounts was sent to the homes of all new students in the first week of school.  If you have an existing PowerSchool Single Sign-On account or a SchoolFusion account, you can add students to that account rather than creating a new one.  Click here for directions to add a student to your existing PowerSchool Single Sign-On account.  Click here for directions to add a student to your exisiting SchoolFusion account.
